Dennis J. Boice, age 62, of Renfrew, died unexpectedly on Wednesday afternoon at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Cranberry Twp.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 30, 1954, he was the son of John J. “Jack” and M. Jean Lund Boice.

Dennis was a retired mason and bricklayer from Union Local 9 and had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Surviving are a daughter, Sarah Jean Boice (Zak) of Burgettstown, his parents, Jack and Jean Boice of Renfrew, a brother, Jeffrey Boice (Cindy) of Mars, and his canine companion, “Rousey”.   He was also the uncle of Taylor, Jared and Christine and the great uncle of McKenna, Madison and Dean.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary J. Boice.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc., 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
