Charles P. “Chuck” Kennedy, age 86, of Mars, died Thursday morning, October 20, 2016 in the comfort of his home with his family at his side.

Born in Myoma, PA on September 12, 1930, he was the son of the late Preston B. and Edna Fiel Kennedy.

Chuck had worked at the Mars A. & P. as a meat cutter and was a salesman for Stanley Gray Ford in Mars.  He then was the District Sales Manager for Matco Tools and was the owner of Chuck Kennedy’s Auto Sales in Mars.

He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Mars V.F.W. Post 7505 and the Mars American Legion Post 787.  He was a life member of the Mars Volunteer Fire Company, now Adams Area Fire District.  He was also a member of the Mars Campus of Dutilh United Methodist Church.

A Mason, Chuck belonged to the John E. Mair Lodge #729 F. & A.M., the Syria Shrine and Consistry Caravan 19. 

His loved antique car and belonged to the Model A Ford Club in Beaver.  He enjoyed stock car racing, flea marketing and especially time spent with family at Edinboro Lake.

Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Cook Kennedy, who he married on June 24, 1950, a daughter, Cherie Smith and her husband, Rod of Chippewa, a son, Charles “Chuck” Kennedy and his wife, Cheryl of Mars, his grandchildren, Stacie Bruce, Derek Bruce, Paul Smith (Colleen), Rebecca Coyle (Bill), Andrew, Clayton and Brittany Kennedy, his great grandchildren, Makenna and Luke Smith and Liam Coyle,  a sister-in-law, Carole Kennedy of Valencia, a brother-in-law, Lee Steffler (Lorraine) of Fombell, several nieces and serveral great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert Kennedy and a sister, Sally Steffler.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Sunday from 1-4 & 6-9 PM. Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Rod Smith and Rev. Terry Stoops, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Twp. Memorials may be made to the Adams Area Fire District, P.O. Box 232,  Mars, PA 16046.
